Mosi2 heating element is a kind of resistance heating element basically made of high pure Molybdenum Disilicide. In oxidizing atmosphere, a layer of compact quartz protective film is formed on the surface of Mosi2 element owing to the high-temperature combustion, which prevent Mosi2 from continuously oxidizing. In oxidizing atmosphere, its max temperature can reach 1800℃, and its applicable temperature is 500-1700℃. According to shape , it can be divide into “pole “ “U” “W”. Special shape such as right angle shape and bend angle shape can be produced according to customer’s request.

 

Application

Advantage

Mosi2 heating element can quickly form a thin and adhesive anti-oxidizing layer of quartz glass(Sio2), under the high temperature oxidizing condition. If the protective layer was damaged, the element can reform a new one, so Mosi2 heating element has a very good anti-oxidation properties, it also means that the heating element can be used on operation for a much longer time than the traditional one.

The resistivity of the Mosi2 heating element is not changing with the time, so a new one can be installed without effecting the old one, this can result of huge saving in furnace maintenance fee sand time as well, increase the working efficiency, this is the key point of Mosi2 heating element being a better material and being widely used.

Chemical Properties

Oxygen-resistance under high temperature: in oxidizing atmosphere, a layer of compact quartz (SiO2) protective film is formed

 on the surface of element owing to the high-temperature combustion, which prevent Mosi from continuously oxidizing. When the

 element temperature is higher than 1700℃, the SiO2 protective film will be fused because fused because its fusing point is 1710℃

 and the SiO2 is fused into molten drops owing to the action of its surface extension, which cause losing its protective ability. In the

 oxidizing atmosphere, when the element is contiguously used, the protective film forms again.

Advice for first time users

When the elements are new (first used) they must be brought to an element temperature of 1200 °C (2192°F) or higher quickly in air. 

If operated at a surface temperature in the 500 °C (932 °F) to 700 °C (1292 °F) range for any length of time before the glaze is formed the elements will be destroyed.

After the glaze is formed, the element may be operated at low temperatures as long as the glaze is intact.
